Papa Loʻi Makahiki 1

ʻO ka papa mua kēia o ke alahele “Ke Aloha ʻ ina” ma lalo o ka papahana CTE. He kahua kēia e kūkulu ai i ka ʻike o ka haumāna no ka mālama ʻana i ka ʻāina.   • Ka mālama ʻana i ka loʻi
  • Nā māhele kikoʻī o nā loʻi
  • “Aloha ʻĀina”
  • Ke kanu ʻana
  • 4 ʻano mea kanu Hawaiʻi (meaʻai)
  • 4 ʻano mea kanu (lāʻau lapaʻau)

This is the beginning course of the Natural Resources track in our CTE program. It is a core course that is required for all students in the “Ke Aloha ʻ ina” pathway of our CTE program.

Students will learn foundational knowledge for taking care of the loʻi and principles of Aloha ʻĀina. They will also study food and medicinal plants.

Natural Resources track

This is the second course of the Natural Resources track in our CTE program. Students will build upon knowledge from the Papa Loʻ i and focus in on food cultivation methods, both traditional and modern.

ʻO ka papa ʻelua kēia o ke alahele “Ke Aloha ʻĀina” ma lalo o ka papahana CTE. E aʻo ana nā haumāna i ka hana o nā ʻano mahiʻai likeʻole. E aʻo ana nā haumāna i ka:

  • Hoʻomomona lepo
  • 3 ʻano mahiʻai koʻikoʻi
  • Ka okoʻa o nā hana i kēia ao a me ka wā kahiko
  • Nā mea kanu hoʻomomona lepo (Haole a me Hawaiʻi)
  • Nā mea hoʻomake mea kanu (Kemikala)
