Early College

  • Aʻo ʻia ma Ānuenue (Taught in school at Ānuenue)

  • Ma ka Hawaiʻi (taught in Hawaiian)

  • Aʻo me kāu papa ponoʻī (you learn with your homeroom class)

  • Koho ke kula i nā papa (classes chosen by us)

  • Free. Funded largely by the Hawai‘i State Legislature. (School pays a small portion.)

  • Part of the school's curriculum. We select classes that complement our in-school curriculum. All students required to participate.

Running Start

  • Aʻo ʻia ma ke kula kaiaulu a i ʻole ma ka punaewele (taught at a CC or online)

  • Ma ka Pelekania (taught in English)

  • Aʻo hoʻokahi (you take the class on your own)

  • Koho ʻoe i kāu papa (you choose the class.)

  • Students use their KS scholarship, Running Start Scholarship or pay for the course themselves.

  • Students choose extra classes to work towards a Community College certificate, get a jump start on college requirements or take other courses that interest them.
